Raise your hand if you love a classic margarita!
Nothing screams spring and summer time like a classic and refreshing margarita. To me, that is the beginning of sweet summer time and it brings me so much joy! I love a classic margarita from scratch. It’s easy to think that they are a lot of work but in reality, they aren’t too difficult to create. This is my classic margarita recipe!
Margarita Recipe
Prep time | 5 minutes
Cook Time | 5 minutes
Ingredients
- 4 ounces tequila (silver or resposado is preferred)
- 2 ounces triple sec
- 1 ½ ounces lime juice
- Lime wedge
*This recipe makes 1 cocktail*
Agave
If you prefer a sweeter margarita, you can add agave for a natural sweetener! I would start with a teaspoon of agave. It is very sweet so sometimes a small bit can go a long way. If you want it sweeter, then you can add a tablespoon. This will all depend on personal preference.
Cocktail Directions
- Using a lime, rim your cocktail glass with lime juice
- Roll the edge of your glass in salt, or tajin if you prefer a little bit of a spike, until the rim is completely covered.
- Pour your tequila, triple sec and lime juice into a shaker. Top with ice.
- Shake all ingredients until your cocktail is properly chilled.
- Carefully strain the cocktail into your cocktail glass
- Garnish with a lime wedge
- ENJOY!
