I have always loved washing the day off of my face before I get into bed. It is something that I look forward to after a long day. Having a nightly skincare routine is one of the best ways to wind down for the day and really own your evening.
One of the questions that I get all the time is what I use daily to help with my skin. Well, below I list out all of the products that I use on a daily basis. This is similar to my morning skincare routine, however, it does differ as I prepare to wind down rather than wake up for the day!
Step 1. Skincare Regimen
I have acne prone skin which means I have naturally oily skin that can lead to easy breakouts. I use the Unblemish regimen from Rodan + Fields. This regimen helps detox my skin of the overproduction of oils, dirt buildup and other impurities.
I get horrible stress breakouts so when I am going through major life changes, such as moving across the country, I will switch to the Spotless Regimen from Rodan + Fields. This is for teen acne but it is a more intense treatment to help manage the bad breakouts that I get.
Step 2. Hydration Serum
When treating acne, dry skin or aging, it is extremely important to keep your skin HYDRATED. I use the Active Hydration Serum from Rodan + Fields. I have tried other serums and moisturizers but this one is by far my favorite. The main reason is it is oil free. For all of my oily skin friends, you will appreciate this more than anyone. It also ACTIVELY hydrates your skin for up to 8 hours.
This product actively works throughout the day and night. It creates a water reservoir in your skin. When it feels your skin begin to dry, it actively draws in moisture from the air to keep your skin hydrated. Many moisturizers use oil products to make your skin feel hydrated and look glowing rather than actually hydrating it. For best results, use this product after your toner or face wash if you do not use a toner.
Step 3. Eye Cream
I use the Redefine Multi-Function Eye Cream. You dab this along the bottom of your eye up around the sides. This eye cream helps prevent signs of aging. It keeps the elasticity of your skin tight to prevent signs of crows feet and wrinkles.
Pro tip: use your ring finger to gently dab any eye cream around your eyes. The skin surrounding your eyes is extremely sensitive and your ring finger presses the least amount of pressure. This will help prevent bruising and dark circles where you apply your eye creams!
Step 4. Lash Serum
I finish my routine with a nightly lash serum to help boost my lashes! I use Lash Boost from Rodan + Fields. There are many different lash serums out there but this one, in my opinion, is the best. It uses biotin and keratin to help strengthen your lashes. They will grow to be longer, darker, fuller and stronger than ever!
