Gift guide for readers

Looking for the perfect gift for your favorite reader? Other than a list of my favorite books, I have put together the ultimate gift guide for the readers in your life! Spruce up their reading experience with some of these amazing bookish gifts. This is my Christmas gift guide for readers!

Something that readers love is a good book and a nice, relaxing set up to read in. Whether that is their bedroom, a favorite spot in their house or their favorite coffee shop, readers love book accessories. I have compiled a list of my favorite books lately, the book accessories that I personally love and things that can be a simple yet good gift for the readers in your life.

Gift guide for readers

Kindle

One of the most controversial gifts a reader can receive is a Kindle. By controversial, I mean that many readers are usually very strictly physical book readers or don’t mine the e-reader version. While I am 100% a physical book girl, I can honestly say that the Kindle has made life easier. I miss having a physical book but I don’t miss having to store all of my books once I am done reading them. I dream of having a book wall or a library for my books but in my current life, I don’t have the space for them.

The other positive to a Kindle is when you are traveling, you don’t have to carry the books with you. Also, if you finish a book, you can easily download a new one to start. Again, while I love having a physical book, having a small piece of technology to house a library of books to take with you wherever you go is hard to pass up.

Custom Bookmark

Next up on my gift guide for readers is a custom bookmark. If your reader refuses to use an e-reader, then spruce up their reading experience with a custom bookmark. I had a leather bookmark with a gold foil monogram of my initials. It was a beautiful addition to my books and made them look more sophisticated! They offer so many different styles of bookmarks these days.

You can choose a simple leather bookmark or you can gift a set of colorful leather bookmarks. You can get a customized leather bookmark or try something different with a corner bookmark. There are so many different approaches that you can take while making it a meaningful.

Book light

Nothing is worse than getting caught up in a good book but keeping your partner up at night because you need the lamp on. A book light is an easy solution and a very easy gift to give! This will allow someone to read late into the night without disturbing anyone else. Or they can take it on a plane with them without shining a light down disturbing the person next to them.

There are a couple of different options that you can gift. There is a neck light that they can wear around their neck as they lay down and read. Or you can get an attachment light to add to the book. These are both easy gifts to add a little bit of light for your favorite reader.

Cozy sweatshirt

Next up on my gift guide for readers is a cozy sweatshirt. I love being snuggled up and cozy. A simple sweatshirt can help anyone feel cozy and warm, perfect for reading, especially during the colder months of the year. This can be a specific sweatshirt or a neutral pullover but gifting a cozy addition to their reading set up can be a great gift.

Cozy Blanket

Aside from a sweatshirt, nothing beats a cozy blanket. This is something that you can take with you anywhere in the house and snuggle up with a good book and cup of coffee. A blanket is almost like an emotional support companion to the story that you are reading. If you need a gift for a big reader in your life, you can’t go wrong with a good blanket.

I love a good neutral blanket but this neutral barefoot dreams lookalike blanket is a fun and soft option! This sage checkered blanket is a close second and this grid patterned blanket is another great option! All of these come in several different colors so if sage or orange isn’t your favorite color, there are many different options! This is one of my favorite options on my gift guide for readers this year.

Candle

A good candle can also be a great gift. While it may not contribute to anything regarding a book, it can add a delicious scent to the room one reads in. Pairing a good book with a new candle can be the ultimate setup! I’ve included a few of my favorite candles for ideas.

Volcano is my favorite candle scent and the best one is from Anthropologie. You can get a self care candle with the scent of lavender, patchouli and eucalyptus. You can get a state specific candle if they live away from home. Or you can try a fresh coffee candle or a warm and cozy candle. Whatever it is, there are so many options to choose from!

Notebook

A notebook can always be a great gift. You can gift a notebook along with a book! If they like to read self development books, a notebook can always be helpful for taking notes or reflecting on what they are reading. Some people love to take notes on the books that they read to dive deeper into what a writer is talking about. Nonetheless, a notebook is always a great gift in general!

Bathtub Reading Tray

Nothing screams relaxing like filling a bath with a glass of wine and a nice book. A bathtub reading tray creates the perfect setup for a nice relaxing soak. This can be a gift that provides a nice evening for years to come! There are options for a full sized tray or a half sized tray to have all of the necessities for a perfect evening. Or, there is a side table that could be used to set everything off to the side. Either way, there are different options to add a wonderful reading set up for your favorite reader!

Book Ends

If you are needing a gift for someone who loves to display their books, a good set of bookends can be a great gift! It allows them to display their books without leaning them up on anything or laying them flat on their backs. It can also add a nice decorative detail to a group of books on a bookshelf!

I personally love a beautiful set of simple marble bookends. But they have so many different options like marble with wood or black marble bookends or wood bookends. Or you can go the more unique route and get decorative figure bookends or terracotta vase bookends.

Mug

Finally on my gift guide for readers, most readers love to set up with a nice cup of coffee or tea. If you know what type of beverage they like to drink, a nice mug and book combo or tea cup and book can be a great gift! This can be an easy and personal gift to give to the reader in your life!

There are so many options to choose from. I love this classic book mug or this reading mug. You can get a personalized mug or this funny “can’t now” mug. For a real splurge, you can gift them this self-heating mug which would be perfect for a day full of reading and your coffee not getting cold.
