Mint Julep Recipe

Nothing screams southern refreshment more than a mint julep! This easy cocktail recipe is very similar to a mojito cocktail but for you bourbon lovers. So let’s get to it! This is my quick and easy Mint Julep recipe!

A mint julep is such a simple cocktail to make and it is full of crisp flavor. From the refreshing and cool flavor of mint to the kicking taste of bourbon mixed with the sweetness of simple syrup. This mint julep recipe is so simple and easy to mix a batch and enjoy!

Mint Julep Recipe

Prep time | 3 minutes

Cook Time | 5 minutes

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 ounces Bourbon
  • 5 Mint Sprigs
  • 2 Sugar Cubes, OR 1/2 ounce Simple Syrup
  • Mint Sprigs for garnish

Simple Syrup Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 1 cup Water
  1. Combine the sugar and water into a small saucepan and bring to a boil. Let it simmer over medium heat until the sugar has dissolved.

Cocktail Directions

  1. Combine your mint leaves, sugar cubes or simple syrup into your cocktail glass. Muddle ingredients to dissolve the sugar and allow the aromas and oils of the mint to release.
  2. Add the bourbon and mix until all ingredients are mixed well.
  3. Fill your cocktail glass with crushed ice and stir. Mix in the ice until your glass is chilled.
  4. Garnish your cocktail with a sprig of mint.
  5. ENJOY!
